Description.

For knitting sample to dial a chain of 13 VP

1 row. 3 VP Lifting (replace 1 sn), 1 sn in the fourth loop from the hook, * 2 VP, 2 SN in the third loop from the previous columns,-repeat from * to the end of the chain. There should be a stripe in the form of a grid of two columns with a scale and two air loops between them, which will be the basis for the tying of crocodile scales (hereinafter-the grid).

2 row.-Tie 5 sn, inserting the hook into the hole between the last two columns of the previous row as if you are trying to tie the last column on the side of the grid;

-1 v. P. (For sharpening of scales);

-Next 5 SN need to tie the adjacent column (penultimate in the grid), previously rotated the work on the wrong side, introducing the hook around the column in the direction from the beginning of the grid to the end.

One flake is ready.

-Skip the next 2 bars of the grid.

Without making any loops of lifting, to tie the following 2 columns (the third pair of columns from the end of a grid) in the same way. (5 sn in the right column, 1 VP, 5 SN in the left column.) That is, the scale is obtained by tying the two columns between the arches of the two v. P. obvtying occurs from right to left, starting from the top of the right column, then tied all the right column, then the VP to go to the neighboring Left column, turning the work counterclockwise, knitting 5 sn, starting from the bottom of the left column, ending with the Obvyazvaniem its top.

Let's skip the next pair of bars and knit the scales in the first columns of the grid.

There should be three scales.

If by description It is not clear how it is done, it is better to watch the video.

Thus, two rows of a pattern, give in the end one row on height. In front are crocodile scales, and behind the work-a grid of SN and VP

In principle, the knowledge of these two series is enough to knit this pattern further, but for beginners may need further instructions.

The third row is the continuation of the first, it will also be the basis for the next row of scales. In addition, it is used to bond the base strips and crocodile scales among themselves.

After you have finished knitting the 5th column of the last flake, turn the work.

Execute 1 v. P, 1 SS in Middle scales, 3 VP, 1 sn, * 2 VP, 2 SN between two SN of the first row which were skipped at knitting of scales, simultaneously catching a place between scales from a front side that there was a fastening of scales with a grid;

2 VP, 2 sn in Middle flakes, repeat from * again.

You get the same grid of 5 pairs of columns and VP, as well as the knitting of the first row.

The crocodile pattern can be carried out in two variants: with an offset of a pattern in a staggered manner and without.

If you do not make offsets, the 4 series should be knit as 2nd.

In order to arrange the scales in a staggered manner knit so.

4th row. After tying the last column in the third row, turn the work. To make a pass of the first two columns and to knit a flake in the next pair of columns is similar to that, as it is described in the second row. In this row will be two scales.

Finish a series of SS with the top VP of the loops lifting the 3rd row.

The 5th row differs from the third one in that it does not have to do VP lifting and SS with the middle scales. It should immediately start a series with 3 VP lifting, further knit as a 3 row.

Then all odd rows alternate between the 3rd and 5th, all even rows alternating between the 2nd and 4th rows.

This pattern can be knit in a circle. You can reduce or increase the number of pairs of bars in a pattern grid.

Crocodile pattern is used for knitting hats, bags, dresses, skirts, mittens, scarves, and shaves, as a finishing motive.
