TIP
• The gauge or finished measurement for a circular
item made in the round is usually given as a
diameter. When measuring, place your ruler straight
across the exact center of the ring and measure
across the rounds on both sides of the center.
BLUE MUG MAT
With B, ch 15.
Row 1 (Right Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn—14 sc.

Rows 3-17: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
TIP
• Fabric crocheted in rows has a tendency to curl at
the corners. Use your hair dryer to flatten the fabric
without harming the yarn: roll the corner in the
opposite direction of the curl, hold in place and blow
warm air over the area with the hair dryer set at a
medium setting.

Rnd 2: Slip st in next 2 dc and into ch-3 space, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in same space, ch 1, * (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space, ch 1; repeat from * around; join with a slip st to top of ch-3.
Rnd 3: Slip st in next 2 dc and into ch-3 space, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in same space, ch 1,
3 dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1, * (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) all in next ch-3 space, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1; repeat from * around; join with a slip st to top of ch-3. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
TIP
• Turn this mug mat into a placemat or even an afghan
by making several and sewing them together. Try
fastening off at the end of each round and starting
the next round with a new color by attaching the
yarn in the ch-3 space.
