MANE:
Cut 1 yd of unraveled Olefin Maxiloops into 2
1/2" pieces. Fold a piece in half, place the fold
on the center of the head. Use the needle and
thread to stitch the center of each piece along
the center of the head. Start 1/2" in front of the
ears and continue down the neck to the point
where it joins the body. Trim uneven ends and
brush lightly.
TAIL:
Cut 8 strands of Olefin Maxiloops into 8" pieces,
fold in half and attach to the end of the body
using a tufting st (insert the hook through a sc
of the body and pull up a 1 1/2" loop, then catch
both ends of the yarn and pull snugly through
the loop.) Trim the tail to the length of the legs
and brush lightly.
FINISHING: With 2 strands of black embroidery
thread satin stitch the nose, backstitch the
mouth, and make 5 short stitches for eyelashes.
Sew the 4mm beads in place for the eyes.

Rnd 9: sc 2 sc together, ch 1 and cut yarn.
Holding sides together, start at this point and
whip stitch edges together. Fold the end of a
piece of pipe cleaner and insert into the horn
before stuffing (using the end of the crochet
hook makes stuffing tiny pieces easier). Place
the horn on the head between and slightly in
front of the ears and sew into place. Thread a
10" length of gold thread through the yarn
needle and attach at the top of the horn. Pulling
the thread tightly, wrap it around the horn in
rows 1/4" apart and secure with a stitch at the
base.
FINISHING:
Hold the 2 strands of ribbon together and make
a shoestring bow with 4 loops on each side and
four 6" tails and stitch it to the unicorn just
above one ear. Glue small silk or cloth flowers
over the knot of the bow.

and bend it to the end of the wing. Sc in each sc,
enclosing the pipe cleaner: 12 sc, *(ch3, sc in
next st) repeat from * 5 times (6 picots made).
Cut the yarn. Position the wing on the body
where the neck joins the body and have the
rounded edge of the wing facing forward. Stitch
in place.
FINISHING:
Wrap 7" of 1/8" wide ribbon around the neck
and overlap the ends at the front, stitch to hold.
With 18" of 1/8" wide ribbon make a shoestring
bow with 3 loops on each side and two 1" tails,
stitch in place. Glue silk or cloth flowers over the
knot of the bow.
