Tail
Begin with about an 1½” (approx.4cm) “tail”

•Leave a long tail to weave back into chains with tapestry needle.
•Tie a knot at base of 1st ch.
•With tip of the tapestry needle, tease out the ends of yarn to fray. Trim ends to a desired length
Assembly
•Stuff legs with fiberfill
•Pin and sew front legs onto elephant body
•Pin and sew back legs onto elephant body
•Pin and sew tail onto back end of elephant body
Flowers (Crochet 14 flowers in 3-4 different colors of DK weight yarn)
With D hook,
•ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook, pull end of yarn to close up ring.
•Sl st in next st and repeat *ch 2, 3 dc in same st, ch 2, sl st in next st* to make 5 petals. Tie off, knot ends of yarn together tightly, weave in ends.
Tassels (make 2)
Using photographs as a guide:
•Arrange 10-12 strands of yarn measuring about 2½”-3” (6-8cm) side by side and tie with another length of yarn. Make a tight knot in the middle.
Fold the tied bundle in half and tie another piece of yarn around yarn strands about a ½ inch from the fold, making a tight knot.
Snip ends of tassel to an even length
Assembly
Using the photographs as a guide:
•Arrange flowers as shown in fig.5 and sew edges of flowers together.
Sew tassels to edge of flowers as shown in
•Sew or glue sequins and beads to flowers in any desired configuration.
Jyoti's Anklets
Using the photographs as a guide:
•With a C hook, chain stitch 3 different colors of yarn together
ch about 18-19 sts to fit around ankles. (Measure as you go to
make sure it fits around the ankle.)
Sl st to 1st ch to form a ring. Tie a knot to finish
Forehead Adornment
Using photographs as a guide:
Make three “leaves” in DK weight colors of choice and D hook,
ch 6
•1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in next, 2 dc in next, 1 hdc in next, sl st in last st. Fasten off and knot ends together. Weave in ends.
•Sew leaves together as shown in fig. 10
