Women Beginner Scarf Crochet

Scarf measures 6½” X 62” without fringe.

Amount: 1 Ball.
COLOR PRODUCT

Crochet Hook: 5mm [US H-8].
Yarn needle; 7½” piece of cardboard.
GAUGE: 16 sts = 4”; 13 rows = 8” in pattern. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Ch 28.
Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across; turn—26 sts.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), skip first dc, dc in next dc, * ch 2, skip next 2 dc, dc in each of next 2 dc; repeat from * across working last dc in top of ch-3; turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (count as 1 dc), skip first dc, dc in next dc; * 2 dc in next ch-2 space, dc in each of next 2 dc; repeat from * across working last dc in top of ch-3; turn.
Rows 4-100: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for pattern. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Fringe: Cut 15” strands of yarn by wrapping around the cardboard and then cutting through the yarn at one edge of the cardboard.
Knot fringe across each end of scarf as follows:
1. Fold 1 strand in half forming a loop;
2. Insert the crochet hook into a stitch from the wrong side
and draw the loop through;
3. Draw the yarn ends through the loop and tighten.
Repeat steps 1-3 across each end of scarf. Trim yarn ends even.
